Getting it working
The questions people ask most often in the first ten minutes. If yours is not here, use the form at the bottom: a person reads it, and you do not need an account.

Installing the tag
Add the site in the dashboard, copy the one line it gives you, and paste it into your site’s HTML before </body>. It looks like this, with your own code in it:
<script src="https://offerbanner.com/embed.js" data-banner="YOUR_CODE" async></script>You paste it once. The tag belongs to the site, not to a banner: everything you change afterwards — new copy, a new design, a different campaign on the calendar — goes live wherever that line is already installed, without redeploying your site.
On Next.js, Nuxt or any framework that defers scripts, put it in the server-rendered HTML rather than in a client-only component, so that a plain curl of your page can see it.
Is it actually installed?
The dashboard checks for you: it fetches your homepage and looks for the tag. If you would rather see it yourself, curl your page and search for embed.js — if it is not in the HTML, the browser cannot run it.
A tag that is installed but shows nothing almost always means nothing is scheduled to run right now. A site shows a banner when an entry on its calendar is both active and inside its date window. A draft, or a window that has not started yet, shows nothing.
Previewing a draft on your own site
Add #ob-preview to the end of your site’s URL — https://yourshop.com/#ob-preview — and the tag renders your newest draft instead of what is live. The preview is private: it is not cached, it is not counted in your statistics, and a visitor without that fragment sees exactly what they saw before. If your host strips fragments, ?ob-preview works the same way.
Connecting an AI agent
OfferBanner is an MCP server. Point any MCP client at https://offerbanner.com/mcp, approve it once in your browser, and your agent gets the same tools the dashboard uses — create sites and banners, book the calendar, create discount codes, read the statistics. There is no key to copy and paste; you sign in in a browser tab, not in the chat. MCP access is included on the Free plan, like the rest of the API.
Discount codes and Stripe
The codes on your banners are real Stripe promotion codes created in your own Stripe account, from a restricted key you paste in Settings. That key can create coupons and nothing else — it cannot charge anyone, read your customers or move money — and you can revoke it at any time without stopping the banner. Codes created for you keep working even if you stop using OfferBanner: they are in your own Stripe account.
Running it on client sites
Yes — agencies and freelancers are welcome to run OfferBanner on their clients’ sites. Sites are unlimited on every plan, each with its own calendar and its own Stripe key, so one login can run every client you have. The account is yours, so the plan limits and the responsibility are yours as well; get each client’s permission for their site and their key. If a client leaves, ask below and we will move their site to their own account.

What each plan includes is on the pricing page.
